SidePlate Connection Solutions

SidePlate^® connections are the product of over two decades of research and innovation in moment frame technology. Side plates reinforce the beam-column interface to ensure a ductile connection, while also improving strength, stiffness, and resiliency. The performance of the side plates makes it possible to use smaller member sizes and/or fewer moment frames when compared to conventional connections—and typically will result in a lighter steel tonnage package. Because of this, a SidePlate design is a complete lateral solution customized for your project's specific demands.

SidePlate connections now allow for lightning fast construction, with self-supporting field-bolted connections. Using a SidePlate design will bring better steel economy and will shorten the construction schedule on any steel framed project.

Any structural steel fabricator can manufacture SidePlate connections using standard steel plates, angles, and fillet welding procedures.
